The Girls Time Clubs provide safe and vibrant spaces where girls build confidence, discover their potential, and grow together. Members benefit from academic support, access to a small library and research opportunities, life skills training such as baking, beading, and sewing, as well as psychosocial counselling. They engage in teamwork, communication, and menstrual health education while exploring talents through poetry, debates, drama, and conservation activities. The club includes Bloomers, Luminaries and Elethu clubs for girls of different age groups

The Trailblazers Boys Club inspires boys to grow into confident, responsible, and compassionate young men. In a supportive environment, members receive academic encouragement, mentorship, and psychosocial support. They learn positive masculinity, gender equality, behaviour change, and environmental stewardship. With access to research resources, life skills training, and creative outlets such as poetry, drama, debates, and conservation projects, boys develop resilience, decision-making skills, and a vision for leading change in their communities.

“Ithuba Lami,” meaning My Opportunity, offers rural girls the chance to dream, learn, and thrive. The club mirrors the Girls Time model by providing academic support, library access, counselling, and life skills training such as baking, sewing, and beading. In a safe space, girls gain confidence in teamwork, communication, and menstrual health management while exploring their talents and learning about conservation. Ithuba Lami empowers rural girls to overcome challenges and seize opportunities for a brighter future.

Thrive Youth Empowerment Program is a 3-month empowerment journey for out-of-school youth, both girls and boys. The program helps participants discover themselves, develop resilience, and prepare for meaningful work. Through sustainable skills training, career guidance, and mentorship, Thrive equips young people with tools for business and employment while connecting them to real opportunities in their chosen industries. By bridging passion with purpose, Thrive opens pathways to livelihoods and leadership that transform lives and communities.

The Scholarship Program provides vital educational support to children and youth from vulnerable backgrounds, ensuring they can stay in school. Each scholarship pack includes school uniforms, stationery, sanitary wear for girls, and school fees, removing barriers that often keep learners from reaching their full potential. Beyond financial assistance, the program restores dignity, builds confidence, and creates opportunities for students to thrive academically and socially. Learners gain education and hope for a better future.

The Feminist Agro-ecology Model School is a transformative initiative empowering women and youth through sustainable agriculture, small grains farming, and small livestock management, including rabbits, goats, and chickens. With 15 active members, over 60% of whom are women, the project builds practical skills, confidence, and leadership while promoting food security, seed sovereignty, and resilient communities. This model school is more than a learning space, it’s a hub for community transformation.

At the heart of Mvuthu, Luminous Organisation is establishing a dedicated Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre that will give children the strongest possible start in life. This project is more than just a school building—it is a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young learners can grow, play and thrive.

Youth and women also participate in community clean ups, environmental education, and plastic reduction campaigns, gaining knowledge and skills to promote sustainable living. In addition, creative projects such as beading and upcycling plastic into jewellery and other crafts allow young people to express creativity while turning waste into valuable, usable products.

Our Sanitary Pad Drive ensures that no girl misses school because of her period. Through this initiative, we provide reusable and disposable sanitary pads to girls in underserved communities, while promoting menstrual health education and dignity. The project empowers girls with knowledge about their bodies, builds confidence, and breaks the silence around menstruation.
